This is my first welding project. Seeing Jadyn on her ATV inspired me to build this electric car for my two year old daughter.

Most of the parts were picked up on Ebay for close to nothing.

The motor is a 2 hp 12 volt DC electric that I won on ebay for $50.

The shocks are off a Yamaha ATV. I got them both on ebay for $15.00

The rack and pinion steering is off a Yerf Dog go cart. This find was only $20 on ebay.

The rear tires and steering wheel are off a Toro riding mower.

To keep the frame light and cheap I’m using 1/2 inch black pipe from Home depot which should have plenty of strength for a vehicle which will never exceed 10 mph and a weight of less than 50 lbs. If I were building it for myself with a 250cc or larger engine I’d use 1″  or larger DOM Steel.

Lastly the seat is one of three kids car seats I had lying around the house.  I’ll add photos as the project progresses.

I have no idea what kind of speed to expect from the electric motor. Once I have it fabbed together I’ll experiment with different gearing.  With a 2 year old driver I’ll gear it down to under 5 mph.
